Quality Process and Procedures
Mesa incorporates a quality inspection at the next stage approach. When a product is refurbished through the process, the preceding process is inspected before the next one is initiated. In addition, Mesa monitors the warranty, DOA, and field returns to detect quality and field issues. Material review board and a full time quality inspector ensure consistent quality from our vendors and to our customers.
Product Refurbishment
Mesa utilizes a product refurbishment process. Our process includes a complete tear down, clean, 100% inspection and replacement of worn and high failure parts, and rebuild. We test each unit in the field environment with all interfaces and accessories tested. We have developed detailed processes and procedures based on the complexity of the products. We can comply with unique customer requirements and ECO’s as required.
Overview of our process:
- Receiving – Verify part number, model number, and serial number (if applicable). Ensure correct model and revision.
- Staging – Product is staged based on customer expectations. Normal turn around time is 5- days. Expedite service is available.
- Disassembly / Clean – At this step, product is completely tore down and cleaned. Any parts that are 100% replacement are discarded.
- Reassembly and Pretest – Units are reassembled and pretested. Adjusted as needed based on OEM or customer specifications
- Final Test – Testing is concluded in a single step to ensure unit will function out of the box.
- Quality testing – Unit is tested based on quality objectives (100%, AQL, or as warranted)
- Shipping – Utilizing tested packing, (Generic, custom, or foam in place)
- Paperwork – paperwork is completed to customer specifications to ensure smooth receipt.
Manufacturing Services
Mesa has a proven track record of reverse engineering parts to increase yields and decrease costs. Since our first part, the Diablo HyType II platen knob in the late 80’s, we have manufactured dozens of parts to compliment our refurbishment process, as well as our customers needs. Our capabilities are not limited plastics, felt, metal, rubber and PCB’s have been a specialty. We have reverse engineered complex platen assemblies to the simplest felt washers. Our years of experience and vendors can drastically reduce price and lead time.
ECO and Kitting
One unique service we provide is ECO and kitting. We have the capability for short and long run implementation of engineering change orders, kitting, and localization as required. We have completed numerous projects for large OEM’s
